About Us

At Prevention Journeys, we offer a unique service to help clinics introduce dementia prevention and improve and extend their existing dementia care packages for patients.

Our mission is to help you grow your business by offering more and improved services to patients. We do this by working with you to create a network of experienced service providers, who not only support those with dementia, but can help patients with lifestyle choices which, if modified, decrease their chances of developing dementia.

With our support, you put patients at the heart of your organisation. We work in partnership with you to help you introduce dementia prevention services and to improve your dementia management services.

Ours is the first UK healthcare consulting company that helps clinics address dementia prevention and we were born from the desire to improve existing clinical journeys.

Our foundation

We were founded and are led by dementia expert Dr Liana Borza, who saw there was a gap in the services offered to patients with concerns about memory loss and for people at risk of dementia.

Liana is passionate about dementia prevention and reaching out to people who are concerned about memory loss, to help them put strategies in place to help prevent or delay the onset of dementia.

Our philosophy

  • Why do memory clinics send people back to their GPs without any intervention when they have subjective or mild cognitive impairment?
  • Why do we only help people once they have developed dementia?
  • Why not help them when they are much younger, before developing any signs of cognitive decline?

Our intervention

Through her work as a clinician, Liana saw the need for additional services to be provided by memory clinics and GP practices.

Now, through Prevention Journeys, Liana is revolutionising the patient’s clinical journey and at the same time helping GP practices and memory clinics to grow their businesses by adding extra services.

About Dr Liana Borza

There are three words that perfectly sum up the successful career of Dr Liana Borza: Psychiatry, teaching and research.

Liana has extensive experience as a Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry and Clinical Lead in NHS England and private UK memory clinic settings.

She is a Clinical Teacher and an Ethics & Law Tutor at the Centre for Psychiatry of Imperial College London Faculty of Medicine and an Independent Expert of the European Commission in Brussels.

She graduated an EU funded Postdoctoral Fellowship in Medical Ethics, a PhD on Alzheimer’s disease under the joint supervision of Professor Barry Reisberg from New York University School of Medicine and an Intercalated BSc Honours in Neuroscience at University College London, being awarded the Health Foundation Intercalated BSc Award. She also completed an Elective in Psychiatry at Oxford University Medical School.

Liana was invited to be an honorary speaker at the prestigious 17th Aesthetic & Anti-Ageing Medicine World Congress in Monte Carlo under the High Patronage of Prince Albert II of Monaco, being awarded a certificate of appreciation and she was a keynote speaker at the popular series of webinars organised in the UK in 2021 by the Alzheimer’s Show Digital Hub.

She co-authored a book on community mental health in a joint venture with the WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Mental Health from Trieste, Italy and contributed chapters to others.

At the beginning of 2022, Liana completed an online MBA (Master of Business Administration) course through the London School of Economics and Political Sciences.

Having practised for many years as a doctor, Liana is making the transition from clinical work to consultancy work, inspired by her passion for increasing people’s access to dementia prevention services.

Liana’s experience in dementia care and prevention, and her business knowledge gained through her MBA, makes her the expert in advising memory clinics and GP practices on how to introduce and extend their services.

As a doctor, Liana works one-to-one, but as an adviser to clinics, Liana plans to inspire institutional change, at scale.
